Wash My Hands

I could have given you everything
Unlimited attention, you would feel heard
Copious affection, your soul would be satiated
Bountiful food, you would not know hunger
I would have provided for friend or more
I was aware you had past baggage; it didn’t matter
Twisted my emotions up and down
You drew me in then shut me out, again and again
I knew better, but against my will I was stuck on
This will be the last time you shut me out
This time, I won’t beg you come back
